Police have renewed an appeal for help to solve the death of a young Indian man whose body was found partially burnt on the side of a road in southern NSW.

Homicide squad officers were today expected to re-visit Wilga Road at Willbriggie, near Griffith, where a member of the public found the body on December 29, police said.

The body is yet to be formally identified but investigators believe it to be that of a 25-year-old Indian man.

"Police have made contact with the man's family in India as well been as the Indian Consulate in order to assist in the identification process," police said.

Griffith Local Area Command Crime Manager, Detective Inspector Paul Smith said police had received a significant amount of information from the public following the death.

"I would like to thank members of the public for coming forward and providing valuable information contributing to our investigation into the man's death," he said.

However, police are appealing to anyone who travelled along Wilga Road or North Kooba Settlers Road between midnight on December 28 and 6am on December 29.

"Irrespective of whether motorists believe they saw anything or not, we would love to speak to anyone who travelled along these two roads during that time," Det Insp Smith said.

Hunt for attacker as woman's throat cut at home

Found dead ... police investigate at the Westmead home.

A woman has been found dead with her throat cut at a house in Sydney's west, police say.

The 29-year-old Indian national was found at a home in Houison Street, Westmead shortly before midnight last night.

Police had been called to the house after reports a woman had been injured in a domestic dispute.

The woman had a knife wound to her throat, police said.

Police are looking for a 23-year-old man, who is 175cm tall and of Indian/Pakistani appearance.

He has short black hair, dark brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a white singlet, shorts and thongs.
